Elon Musk plans to Launch a new social media platform

Elon Musk says he’s giving serious thought to build a new social media platform that prioritizes free speech. Over the weekend, a tech billionaire posted a poll asking his Twitter followers what they think of the platform.

He wrote,

Free speech is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you believe Twitter rigorously adhered to this principle?

He also wrote, the consequences of this poll will be important.

Please vote carefully.

After votes were tallied over a few days,

Elon Musk retweeted the poll and wrote,Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy, what should be done is a new platform needed to then ask the Tesla founder, Would you consider building a new social media platform Elon Musk?

One that would consist of an open source algorithm, one where free speech and adhering to free speech is given top priority, one where propaganda is very minimal.

I think that is the kind of platform is needed to which he responded,I am giving serious thought to this. A few Elon Musk fans offered their input.

One person wrote, Elon Muskshould buy Twitter and delete it.

Dave Rubin wrote,

Maybe buying Twitter to clean it up makes sense, but maybe letting it die is best.

Republican Laverne Spicer wrote,

A new platform is needed or a complete change of management at this one, with everyone given a second chance on their banned accounts.

We need to invent something that fill this space and hasn’t existed yet.

There are, unfortunately several challenges that have prevented every previous attempt from working. This is very much an analytic problem of a particular kind.

It’s not just a lack of desire.

Meanwhile, last month,Elon Musk was praised after SpaceX donated

Starlink terminals to Ukraine so citizens in the war torn country would have access to the internet without the threat of Russia shutting it down.

And now the Telegraph has reported that Ukraine’s Army has been using Starlink for drone attacks on Russian tanks and positions.

The paper reports Ukraine’s military can monitor unmanned vehicles through Starlink, especially in areas where Internet connection is weak.

One officer told the Times, we use Starlink equipment and connect the drone team with our artillery team.

We use a drone with thermal vision at night. The drone must connect through Starlink to the artillery guy and create target acquisition.
